Unwanted face & body hair is a common concern, hence the ongoing demand for permanent solutions.

 

While laser hair removal is likely the most efficient route to permanently smooth, hair-free skin, not everyone is a candidate. Ideal laser candidates have fair skin and coarse, dark hair, although today’s lasers can also successfully accommodate darker skinned individuals.

 

Results from laser treatment vary widely depending on device, settings and operator. The Fuzzy Peach works extensively with reputable laser treatment providers in the Columbus, Ohio metro area.

Those individuals with blonde, red, gray or white hair cannot be successfully treated with laser hair removal. Lasers are attracted to pigment, which gives hair its color. Blonde, red, gray & white hair simply do not contain enough pigment to attract the laser. This means that regardless of how many treatments these individuals receive, the treatments simply will not be effective.
 

Enter electrolysis & Epilfree!

 

Electrolysis has been successfully used to eliminate unwanted hair for decades. Before lasers, electrology was the only permanent hair removal option available. It’s still used today to eliminate hair from those who are not candidates for laser. 

Your electrologist will address each hair individually. A tiny probe (about the diameter of the hair) is gently inserted into the hair follicle. Your treatment provider will then apply an appropriate amount of microcurrent to destroy the lower portion of the follicle along with its blood supply. She will then gently lift the hair from its follicle.

Multiple treatments will be required. Depending on the size of the area treated, regular appointments will be necessary for about 18 to 24 months. Successful outcomes are dependent on your adhering to a regular treatment schedule. Your practitioner will work with you to determine the most effective appointment intervals.

Following treatment, most clients experience temporary redness and mild puffiness which generally subside within 1 to 2 hours. Applying ice to the treatment site(s) may speed this process. You will be asked to refrain from sun, soap and makeup to the treated area(s) for 24 hours. Treatment sites should be cleansed with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or witch hazel. Small crusts may form which should be left alone as picking may result in infection and other complications. Application of antibiotic ointment may speed healing. Protecting the treated area(s) with SPF 30 minimum is essential to prevent pigmentation issues.

 

Another exciting option called Epilfree uses all-natural topical solutions to reduce hair growth permanently over a several month period of time. Epilfree was first discovered in Israel and is now used extensively throughout Europe. Epilfree is effective on all hair colors and may be safely used on all skin colors including sun tanned skin. Results are considered equivalent to those achieved with laser hair reduction.
